It's here!

Whoo! The brand spankin' new lens I ordered last week arrived today. It's a Nikkor 24mm f2.8. Yummy! I decided on this lens for a few reasons - 1) I've been wanting something wider than my 50mm lately 2) I needed something sharper than my Sigma 18-200 zoom lens 3) I prefer primes over zooms.

I've only had a little play with it, but I like it so far. I have a few kooky ideas in mind for my 52 Weeks project though, and this lens will be perfect for shooting them.

And if you're wondering about the carrot, Spencer's not on a diet or anything, he just looooves chomping on raw carrots! He also likes lettuce and baby spinach, but not rocket. :)

Spencer is looking rather regal in this week's photo. Maybe it's because I've given him the title 'Lord of the Whinge'.

This pose is so typical of Spence! He's always sprawled out across doorways or in the middle of corridors.

Steeeeeeeve!

Move over Spence, Steve is stealing the limelight today! I had a little photoshoot with Steve yesterday afternoon and he thinks he's every bit as good a model as Spencer. Don't let his innocent little face fool you, this boy is called 'Stevie the Bad' for a reason!

How adorable are his little feets??

10/52

This week I thought I'd play around with the bokeh star things (great description huh?) from the Canon Photo5 competition a couple of years ago. I really didn't get the results I was looking for, but if you look closely at the photo you'll see little star shapes in the background.

Spencer is a good dog to walk with. He walks next to me on a loose leash and every now and then he'll check in with me by looking up and touching my hand with his nose. I can't imagine going for a walk without a dog!

Walkies

When I looked out the window before setting out for a walk this afternoon, the sky was overcast and quite dark and the light just wasn't right for a photo I had in mind. Of course, after I decided not to bother taking the DSLR, leashed up the dog and walked down the driveway, the sky had cleared and the light was great. Ah well, Spence and I still had a nice walk and I took a few snapshots with the baby camera (Panasonic FT10).

I like this next one cos Spence's shadow looks like a wolf!
