The early morning light was perfect today and I just couldn't resist taking a back-lit photo. The soft morning light gives a nice dreamy feel.

The idea behind this photo was definitely better than the execution. I might have to try a re-shoot at some stage. Would it be cheating to put the re-shot photo in the book instead of the original?

Whoo! The brand spankin' new lens I ordered last week arrived today. It's a Nikkor 24mm f2.8. Yummy! I decided on this lens for a few reasons - 1) I've been wanting something wider than my 50mm lately 2) I needed something sharper than my Sigma 18-200 zoom lens 3) I prefer primes over zooms.

I've only had a little play with it, but I like it so far. I have a few kooky ideas in mind for my 52 Weeks project though, and this lens will be perfect for shooting them.

And if you're wondering about the carrot, Spencer's not on a diet or anything, he just looooves chomping on raw carrots! He also likes lettuce and baby spinach, but not rocket. :)

Spencer is looking rather regal in this week's photo. Maybe it's because I've given him the title 'Lord of the Whinge'.
